ABOUT VIVIAN
Welcome — I’m Vivian, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I bring over 15 years of experience working in the criminal justice field, where I support individuals through rehabilitation, change, and personal growth. Throughout my work, I have learned the importance of meeting people exactly where they are. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, working through specific challenges, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, my goal is to provide therapy that feels supportive, respectful, and empowering.

I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental counselling environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. I believe healing begins when people feel truly heard and accepted, and I work collaboratively with clients to help them move forward at a pace that feels right for them.
In addition to my professional experience, my roles as a wife, mother, and daughter deeply inform my work as a therapist. These lived experiences give me meaningful insight into family dynamics, parenting challenges, and the often-unspoken pressures of caregiving and partnership. I understand how feelings of guilt, responsibility, and internal conflict can quietly build over time, and I help clients develop healthier boundaries, restore balance, and reconnect with joy in their everyday lives.

I welcome clients from all walks of life and am committed to fostering an inclusive and culturally sensitive therapy practice where everyone feels valued and respected. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and adaptable, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psycho-Dynamic perspectives, mindfulness-based techniques, and Person-Centred therapy. By tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs, I support clients in identifying their strengths, developing effective coping strategies, and building long-term resilience.

If you’re seeking counselling in Coquitlam, support with life transitions, stress, family concerns, or personal growth, I would be honoured to support you on your journey toward greater clarity, balance, and well-being.
