  • After Hours Emergency Services (for basic necessities like food, shelter, medical care, and transportation): 604-660-3194.

  • Suicide: If you, or someone you know, is thinking about suicide, please call 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433). Signs of suicidal behaviour can include, but are not limited to:

    • withdrawing from friends, family, and intimate partners;

    • significant changes to sleep and eating routines;

    • increase in risky behaviours (e.g., unsafe sex, drug and alcohol use, and a general disregard for personal safety);

    • significant decline in work or school performance;

    • dramatic alterations to daily activities, dress, and relationships with others;

    • giving away meaningful possessions;

    • increased irritability; and

    • having or sharing thoughts about suicide.

  • Alcohol and Drug Information: If you, or someone you know, want access to information on drug and alcohol use, please call 1-800-663-1441. Referrals to treatment services are also available.

  • Poisoning: If you are concerned that you, or someone you know, has been exposed to a poison or a toxic substance, please call Poison Control at 1-800-567-8911.​

  • General Mental-health Support: If you are experiencing distress and need to speak to a trained counsellor, there are 24-hour helplines available for adults and youth across Canada

  • Surrey Urgent Care Response Centre for Adults (19 years+). Urgent mental health and substance use concerns. Services include: Crisis stabilization; Assessment and psychiatric consultation; Treatment initiation and Connection to community-based services. Address: 13750 96th Avenue, Surrey, BC.   • Indigenous Mental-health Support: If you, or someone you know, is Indigenous and in need of urgent counselling support, please call the Hope for Wellness hotline at 1.855.242.3310. The hotline is staffed with trained counsellors, is available in multiple Indigenous languages, and is open 24 hours a day.
