ABOUT PETRINA

Hello — I’m Petrina, a Registered Social Worker. I bring a broad range of experience to counselling, including work in youth and women’s shelters and extensive experience as a medical social worker in both hospital and community settings. Throughout my work, I have supported clients through challenges such as grief and loss, life transitions, academic or career pressures, and more, always integrating values of kindness, compassion, and understanding into the work we do together.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring my methods to meet each client’s unique needs. As a BIPOC woman, I also bring awareness of race-based trauma, discrimination, and systemic inequalities, which informs my approach to therapy and allows me to create a safe, supportive space for clients from all backgrounds.

My hope is to help you reach a place where your thoughts, emotions, and actions come from a foundation of self-worth, self-compassion, and true belonging to yourself. Together, we can work toward healing, growth, and practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges.

If you’re seeking trauma-informed counselling, support through life transitions, grief counselling, or guidance with academic or career challenges, I would be honoured to support you on your journey toward healing and well-being.
