Open Mind Counselling Job Opportunity

 

Open Mind Counselling is looking for passionate and enthusiastic therapists who are seeking opportunities to gain valuable experience from a well-established practice. Located in Coquitlam, British Columbia, we offer in-person and online counselling for individuals and couples, as well as families while providing a flexible and supportive setting.

Whether you are an established counsellor or a newly graduated counsellor, we welcome all applicants. Opportunities are available for both remote and in person associates who will work directly out of our beautiful office in Central Coquitlam.

 

We are looking for contractor therapists with:

  • Master’s degree in counselling psychology, clinical psychology, or social work.

  • Registration in good standing with the following associations or colleges: BCACC, CCPA or College of Social Workers

  • Professional Liability Insurance that includes telehealth services.

  • Experience working with individuals, young adults, couples, and families.

  • The ability to commit a minimum of 5-10 hours per week for clients to consistently book in with you. This could include a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours (specific days and times are negotiable).

  • An awareness of (or, a willingness to learn about) privilege and marginalization and how these might impact one’s lens/bias while counselling.

 

Modality:

  • In-person (preferred) → Use of our office space in Coquitlam, your schedule for this will need to fit office availability, which we have some flexibility.

  • Virtual → Work remotely using video counselling through Jane App platform or telephone. Your schedule for virtual work can be flexible.

 

Bonus if you have any of the following:

Knowledge, experience and/or training in working with:

  • Couples (such as Gottman training, EFT, etc.).

  • Somatic therapy modalities (such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, AEDP, etc.).

  • Specific communities, such as racialized communities, neurodiverse communities, Indigenous communities, disabled & Deaf communities, LGBTQIA+ communities,  etc. Lived experience will be considered an asset.

  • Anxiety, depression, relationships, addictions, PTSD and/or trauma.

  • CBT, DBT, ACT, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness.
